Really

It doesn't seem like that a long time
That we complain of flying by
I wake up and I know that I
Have all day ahead of me

And you'll be there, in the morning
Smiling down at me
And then I'll blink a few times
Take a look around to see

If you're really there,
Are you really there?
Have you jumped out of a dream
Or if it was going badly
Have you come to rescue me?

I'm walking out, it's afternoon
Trying to keep sight of you
But it would seem that you have disappeared

And as I sit down by my lonesome
Stare into the crowd
You tiptoe right, by my side
Where did you come from now

But you'll be there, in my lonesome
Smiling down at me
And then I'll blink a few times
Take a look around to see

If you're really there,
Are you really there?
Has it really been three years
I had never been prepared
But you've taken over me

So I'll fly down to your place now,
The sun is about leave
I'm calling out your name now,
Open this door for me

It doesn't seem like that a long time
That we complain of flying by
As I stand there I know that I
Have all day ahead of me

And there you are, in the doorway
Smiling back at me
And then I'll blink a few times
Because this feels like a dream

And you'll be there, in the morning
The sunshine in your eyes
With a soft breeze through your hair
And you look beautiful, beautiful
Why am I not surprised

It doesn't seem like that a long time
That we complain of flying by
As I stand there I know that I
Have all of time ahead of me

And I wake up, every morning
Knowing that you're there
As the parade of time goes marching by
We're watching and we don't care
You can close your eyes now
I'm really here,
I'm really here

It's been a year since my last poem song-lyric to you. Oh well.
